North Norfolk Property Search
Within this part of Norfolk, there are a handful of larger towns which provide a selection of amenities.
A very popular market town is Holt which is around 5 miles from the North Norfolk coast. The town is home to a familiar branded high street as well as housing a number of independent shops selling a selection of items from pies to crafts.
Within North Norfolk, there are also larger towns namely Fakenham, Hunstanton and Kings Lynn which all have large supermarkets and other amenities such as cinemas and bowling complexes.
Brancaster & Burnham Market
Brancaster is very well known for its huge sandy beach and the harbour at Brancaster Staithe – which provides much family fun for sailing and kayaking or fishing. Within Brancaster, there are several fine pubs and restaurants all serving locally sourced food.
Burnham Market is found slightly inland from Brancaster and is a highly desirable and sought-after village and sometimes is referred to as ‘Chelsea on Sea’. The village is centred around its green and is home to an array of shops and boutiques, fine dining and pubs all serving locally sourced food.
North Norfolk Coastal Villages
Blakeney is a small village also found on the coast and from here you can walk to the very popular Blakeney Point. The harbour has silted up and allows only smaller motorboats, rowboats and kayaks in at the high tide. The village is also a very sought-after place to live and is home to a number of fine pubs and restaurants all serving locally sourced food.
Holkham is a village in itself and this houses the magnificent Holkham Hall and its estate includes for the huge sandy beach, which is managed by Natural England and is backed by the stunning pine woods. The Holkham beach and Wells beach touch and are both very popular throughout the year with walkers and beachgoers alike.
Living in North Norfolk
Norwich is located about an hour’s drive from the North Norfolk coast and provides all amenities a large city would want as well as a mainline train station that links to Liverpool Street in London in less than 2 hours.
There are many attractions in North Norfolk perhaps its biggest prize are the stunning beaches and tranquillity found here that make it quite so special and the reason many choose to live or own second homes in the area.

Tourist attractions are aplenty and include Holkham Hall and its estate gardens as well Norfolk Lavender. There is also a very popular National Trust nature reserve at Blakeney.
At Creake Abbey, which is 2 miles south of Burnham Market, there is a farmer’s market which is very popular and sells everything from locally grown vegetables to sheepskins.
For the more athletic and competitive natured there is a popular sailing club at Brancaster Staithe and they host many events from dinghy racing and Swallows and Amazons to various instructor courses to be able to learn to sail.
North Norfolk Schools
North Norfolk is home to several highly regarded schools including Greshams and Beeston Hall School. Greshams is a co-education school and caters for children from nursery all the way through to the 6th form and Beeston is a pre-prep to prep school but also is coeducational.
